Thank You 'Times Food'
Winning is not only Great but it also boosts your confidence and motivates you to do your BEST...
Winning second position in ''My Secret Recipe Contest'' conducted by Times Food of Times Of India group was indeed one such moment for me. First 'Big win' in a cooking contest, makes it all the more special. My happiness is unparallelled after Winning this in the very first year of my blogging. It was a contest where I was reluctant to participate. Had it not been my husband Sandeep's persuasion I would have missed this Golden opportunity.
I remember very clearly when on 15th January 2018, my hubby told me about this contest and asked me to participate in it. Hearing the big name "Times Of India", I loved his confidence in my cooking skills but at the same time, I waived off this idea thinking that it was not my cup of tea. Since I didn't want to upset him and the contest was on until 24th January, I assured him that I would participate in a few days thinking that he would forget about it shortly. But my dear husband kept on reminding me and then finally on the last day itself I posted my Rasmalai Cake recipe in it.
Rasmalai cake was already a huge hit in my family. This Indo-western fusion cake is really a delight to have. I had baked it for my sister in law, Archana Aggarwal's birthday and they were all gaga for it. Flavored with almond essence and Rasmalai milk plus stuffed with lots of rasmalai pieces, this cake is definitely one of its kind but would it be worth posting it for a contest? Still, I did as I didn't want to annoy my darling hubby. I posted it and just forgot about it. Didn't bother to know the result also. That's why, though the results were announced on 1st February and I even got a mail but still I came to know about it on 16th Feb only. I just couldn't believe my eyes and my happiness knew no bounds when accidentally I saw it on Instagram. It was an award in a real sense. A sense of accomplishment through this award.
Also sharing the Rasmalai Cake, the Winner.
Winning the second position in the contest was a prize in itself, but later when I found out that I had won an OTG then I was on cloud nine. This is also because I was planning to replace my old OTG and wanted to buy a new one. Had even enquired from my cousin Astha about it as she had recently purchased one. Wow!!! a gift and that too of choice and need. I have no words for this miraculous gift.
Now a glimpse of my award, my OTG...
And my very first Bake in this OTG was Fruit Pizza.
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Times Food and to my supportive husband.
Why am I sharing all this with you? First of all, of course, as I wanted to share my happiness with all of you. Secondly, one should always go out and seek to participate in various activities. We may or may not win but this definitely allows you to test and refine your skills and gain confidence. Many times there may be self-doubts or imaginary fears but participation allows you to win over these. So dear friends, never hesitate to participate.
With A Heart Full Of Gratitude
